Wildlife Garden

During January, Henllan Conservation Group committee members consulted with Ysgol Henllan and applied for 2 grants to create a new wildlife garden in the School grounds. We are initially looking to mainly support birds & pollinators such as butterflies. We haven’t yet heard whether our grant applications were successful or not.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM took place at 2pm on 22nd January.

Tidy Wales Shortlist

Henllan Conservation Group has been shortlisted for the Tidy Wales ‘Best Biodiversity Project in Wales’. The awards ceremony has been postponed until the end of April.

Current Projects:

Church yard Cowslip Bank

This needs to be scythed at the end of August, scarified & new native bulbs / plants added, as well as separating the cowslips & replanting. Look out for posters for a day open to all, with the usual refreshments.

Cil y Coed

Henllan Conservation Group will work with residents and Wales & West Housing to ensure the Cil y Coed gardens are cared for. In particular we need volunteers to water the gardens during the summer. If your family or community group would like to water the gardens, please volunteer to join the rota. You can specify when you would like to water. We recommend you chose a whole week (or a few weeks). Water & watering cans are on site. Please e-mail the Conservation Group address below:-

Yn ystod misoedd cynar 2015 mae Grwp Cadwriaeth Henllan wedi cadw’n brysur yn ymgynghori Ysgol Henllan a helpu’r ysgol a’u hymgais lwyddianus am gymorthdal i greu gardd natur ar dir yr ysgol. I gychwyn bydd y prosiect yn canolbwyntio ymddyddori’r plant drwy ddenu adar, gwenyn a gloynod byw. Bydd llwyth o weithgareddau i annog chwilfredd naturiol y plant hefyd.

Fe gafodd y grwp ei enwebu fel Prosiect Cadwraeth gorau yng Nghymru gan Cadwch Gymru’n Daclus, ac yn edrych ymlaen at y seremoni yng Gnhaerdydd tua diwedd mis Ebrill.

Poncyn Briallen Fair yr Eglwys

Mae’r tir o gwpas Eglwysi Cymru yn werthfawr I natur gan nad ydyn wedi cael eu ymyrryd gan amaethyddiaeth. Fel rhan o’r ymdrech i wella iard Eglwys Sant Sadwrn. Bydd angen Pladuro y poncyn cyn diwedd Awst, ag yna paratoi yr arwyneb i blannu bylbiau a phlanhigion a gwahannu’r briallu syn tyfu’n agos. Edrychwch am ddoleni gwybodaeth. Bydd y dydd yn agored I bawb gyda’r arluniaeth arferol ar gael.

Cil Y coed

Bydd y grwp cadwraeth yn gweithio gyda thrigolion ‘Tai Cymru ar Gorllewin’ I sicrhau bod y gerddi natur yn cael eu gwarchod. Yn enwedig dros yr haf bydd angen gwirfoddolwyr I ddyfrio pan bo’r angen.

Os byddwch chi neu’ch tely a diddordeb mewn gwirfoddoli yna cysylltwch a’r grwp I ymuno ar rota – fel arfer bydd hyn am un wythnos ar y tro a bydd pibell dwr a adnoddau ar gael.
